# Review Generator Quick Manual

The CAXperts **Review Generator** is a freeware tool for the fast and simple preparation of Design Review meetings. In a clear representation of disciplines, areas, and models, all relevant components can be selected for viewing in **SmartPlant Review** and opened afterwards. A configured PDS job with a valid licence is required for `DRV` file generation.

The tool uses the standard PDS workflow. First select the control file, `*.cmd`. The PDS project can then be selected from the project list. By clicking the project, the project structure is loaded and displayed in the view on the right. From there, the required components, or complete areas and disciplines, can be selected.

The **Review Generator** creates a `DRI` file as a collection of all included files. To do this, specify the target folder and file name in the appropriate text field. In addition, `DRV` files for the individual components can be generated optionally by selecting the **Generate DRV-Files** checkbox, enabled by default.

If required, the generated components can then be displayed in **SmartPlant Review** by selecting the **Open in SmartPlant Review** checkbox. The **Process** button starts the generation, controls the underlying batch processes, and restarts them if necessary until all elements have been processed completely. The **Exit** button closes the program.

After **Process**, the current status is indicated by colour:

-   **Green**: data have been generated correctly and are up to date.

-   **Yellow**: `DRV` files are currently being generated.

-   **Red**: data are inconsistent or were generated incorrectly.

To help with checking the process, the lower part of the window shows an extract from the log file. This can be opened and reviewed by clicking in that area.
