# Moving from UPV to UDiTH

## Step 1: Prerequisites for the Evaluation and Installation of UDiTH
- Use a dedicated computer on which **UniversalPlantViewer**, **UniversalPlantViewer Builder**, and **Adapter** are **not** installed.  
- If UPV models already exist, ensure that this computer has appropriate access to a UPV model for initial testing.  

## Step 2: Accessing an Existing UPV Model Using UDiTH
- Install the **UDiTH Viewer**.  
- Create the licence file **`udithlicense.txt`**, containing only the UDiTH licence key provided by **CAXperts**.  
- Copy this file into the **`\Data`** directory of the relevant UPV model.  
- **Access test:** Launch the UDiTH Viewer and open the UPV model using the newly added UDiTH licence key to confirm that it is working correctly.  

## Step 3: Updating All UPV Models and Workstations to the UDiTH Viewer
- Add the UDiTH licence file **`udithlicense.txt`** to all centrally and locally stored UPV models.  
- Uninstall **UniversalPlantViewer** from all workstations.  
- Install the **UDiTH Viewer** on all workstations to replace the previous application.  

## Step 4: UDiTH Capture Station – Creation of UDiTH Models
- Install the **Adapters** and **UDiTH Builder** version **2026.X**.  
- Open either an Adapter or **UDiTH Builder**, and activate the UDiTH licence via the *Help → Update Licence* dialogue.  
- Carry out an initial data conversion test using an Adapter for 3D data (for example **AdapterForE3D**, **Ifc**, **LaserScans**, **Navisworks**, or **SmartReview**).  
- Perform an initial model creation test using the **UDiTH Builder**.  
- Open the generated UDiTH model with the **UDiTH Viewer** to verify successful creation and compatibility.  

## Step 5: Scripts (Command Line Mode) for Model Creation
- Update all model creation scripts to reflect the installation of **UDiTH Builder** and its revised installation directory structure.  

## Step 6: Updating Additional UDiTH Capture Stations for Model Generation
- **Adapters (version 2026.X)** and **UDiTH Builder (version 2026.X)** must **not** be installed alongside Adapters or **UniversalPlantViewer Builder** versions **6.X** or **7.X**.  
- Before installation, uninstall all Adapters and **UniversalPlantViewer Builder** versions **6.X** or **7.X**.  
- Install the **Adapters** and **UDiTH Builder** version **2026.X**.  
- Activate the UDiTH licence using either the Adapter or Builder via the *Help → Update Licence* dialogue.  

## Step 7: Migration of UPV Web Services to the UDiTH Portal
